Yoga and Meditation Instructor
I hold a Masters Degree in East Asian Studies with specialization in Chinese language and art history from the University of Pennsylvania and am finishing a Masters Degree. in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh. With over 15-years of yoga experience, I am constantly exploring ways to combine my academic interests in art, creativity, Buddhism and the body with my yoga practice and teachings. Yoga is my inspiration and I have personally experienced the power that a regular yoga practice can have in physical and spiritual transformation. I continue to study yoga and meditation with Jill Satterfield and somatic movement training with Mark Chandlee Taylor. It is an honor to work with you and I know that yoga isn’t an easy answer, but it is a beautiful journey.
RELAXATION SESSIONS with SHARON RUDYK, RYT(412) 855-5692
Sharon offers hour-long relaxation sessions in the Peace Room by appointment. These sessions start with some gentle stretching and breathing exercises to release stress we are holding in our bodies. Then, you will be guided into a supported restorative pose that provides complete comfort for your entire body. Once you are relaxed, you will be verbally guided through a meditation that will place you into a type of yogic sleep. This type of relaxation is even more restorative for the body than sleep. You will be gently guided from the meditation and then we will sit together for a peaceful cup of tea to close your session. These sessions are deeply restorative for the body and are excellent for individuals who are overwhelmed by stress, tension, disease, grief, insomnia, anxiety and anger. This type of relaxation can also help with the stress that is accompanied by treatments for cancer or infertility or individuals who are managing chronic pain. Your meditation will be individually designed to meet your specific needs.
