30-Days of Revolution Nutrition + 20-Yoga Classes=Transformation
Exclusively at YOGA MATRIKA
Leah Shannon, Holistic Health Counselor, has designed a detox program based on seasonal whole foods and lifestyle changes just for this challenge. When you register for this challenge, you are setting an intention to make changes in your life that will positively impact your physical, mental and spiritual health. Forget fad diets, gym memberships that you never use and every other thing that hasn’t worked yet! Instead, eat delicious and seasonally appropriate foods, meet other people who enjoy yoga and eating well and have a great time taking yoga, pilates and meditation classes while you learn skills that you can use for an entire lifetime to feel your best. No experience with cooking, yoga or eating whole foods is required.
What is the Challenge?
- Take 20-classes in 30-days at Yoga Matrika
- Attend a Revolution Nutrition Workshop and follow a gentle, whole foods based, detox food plan for 30-days.
- Even if you “lose”–you win! If you meet the challenge, you will receive a $25 credit at Yoga Matrika towards future classes or workshops. If you don’t meet the challenge, you’ll still have a great time trying and every yoga class and new recipe tried is just one more step in the right direction!

Through an integrative nutrition approach, Leah works with clients with concerns ranging from weight loss for health, chronic illness, fatigue and stress, digestive disorders and food sensitivities to individuals and families who simply want to prioritize a healthful life. Leah has designed a gentle, whole foods based diet that is designed to work together with your yoga practice to clear the body of toxins and bring all of your systems into balance. You will get all the information you need at the workshop, including menus and recipes for the first week and then you will receive weekly e-mail updates. Leah will also provide continuing support through the challenge through weekly teleconferences. It is not required to participate in the teleconferences to complete the challenge, but this additional support will be made available to you at no extra charge.
Registration
For Yoga Matrika Members: $95
The cost is less for members because you can use your current membership or class package to pay for the yoga classes. This fee includes the Revolution Diet workshop, a 4-week detox diet plan with weekly e-mail updates and teleconference support with Leah during the 30-day challenge. We will also track your attendance and participation.
Meeting the Challenge
The Fork & Mat Challenge is about changing your life. Setting the intention of taking time for yoga each and every day and bringing healthy and powerful foods into your body is a wonderful step in the right direction. Whether you meet the challenge or not, participating in this program is a great way to get real about your health and wellness. In some cases, not meeting the challenge is going to be just as informative and important as meeting it. We will track your class attendance during the challenge period and you must do the following to meet the challenge:
#1) Attend the Revolution Diet Workshop on Monday, September 13, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:00pm. There are no make-ups for missed workshops or alternative dates. This is the start of the challenge and it is required to meet the challenge. You can certainly participate in the program for the remainder of the month if you miss the workshop, but you can’t meet the challenge requirements.
#2) Attend 20-classes (yoga, pilates, meditation—any kind of class counts) at Yoga Matrika between September 14, 2010 and October 13, 2010.
Challenge winners will find that their life is transformed, that they weigh less, have more energy, are less stressed out, have great digestion, beautiful skin and a healthy glow. Your yoga practice will be stronger and you will feel powerful, energetic and confident on and off the mat. In addition, Yoga Matrika will apply a $25 credit to the accounts of all challenge winners.
A Word to Moms & Dads w/Young Children
As Leah and Sharon are both the mothers of young children, we can imagine that a lot of moms and dads are reading about this challenge and feeling like they only wish they could take one class a week, never mind FIVE. Registering for this challenge is a wonderful way to set an intention to take care of yourself. If you can release attachment to “meeting the challenge” and set your own intention, then you can use this as a way to get the support you need to improve your health and find more energy for your family and other responsibilities. Yoga Matrika will be offering FOUR classes a week that you can take with your child(ren). So, maybe your personal intention would be to try one new whole foods recipe a week from the Revolution Nutrition Diet that Leah provides and take two yoga classes—one with your child and one for yourself. Yes, you are right, you aren’t going to “win” the challenge with this kind of intention. But, in the end, you really do win. You win because one class a week for yourself is probably an hour that you aren’t already taking to take care of yourself. You win because your family will have at least one meal a week that is healthier and includes whole vegetables, fruits and grains that are seasonally appropriate. You win because you give your support system a chance to step-in and help you. You win because your children experience some yoga. You win because your children see that it is important to make self-care and wellness a priority. We don’t want to talk you into the Fork & Mat Challenge, but we do want to stop you from talking yourself out of the challenge! The challenge is for everyone even if meeting the challenge is not possible for everyone.
