Thai Massage Services

With 2,000 years of written history and practice, traditional Thai Massage blends acupressure with assisted yoga.  A typical session consists of the therapist guiding you through a series of passive yogic stretches while using a combination of finger, palm, elbow, knee and foot techniques applying pressure along your body’s energy network (Sen).  The therapist addresses your individual needs and works within the limits of your ability and comfort.  This effective fusion of body work promotes proper functioning of your body’s physiological systems and eliminates toxins from your body while also increasing flexibility.  The combination of yoga and acupressure opens the body helping to balance your mind, body and spirit leaving you with a greater sense of calm and assisting you on a path beyond greater health and towards overall well-being.  These sessions are performed on a floor mat while fully clothed.

Shiatsu Massage Services

For centuries in Japan, Shiatsu has been practiced to:  eliminate chronic pain, reduce stress, balance the mind and body.  In the 1960’s, Shizuto Masunaga developed Zen Shiatsu.   Working with the Eastern medicine meridian system the practitioner gives a dynamic and proper Shiatsu.  Utilizing the theory of Kyo-Jitsu, practitioner and receiver interact on a physical as well as an energetic level to create an environment where the healing process can occur.  The natural tendency is for the human body to heal itself and Zen Shiatsu works to stimulate this desire for self-healing.
