MATRIKA CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
This is the only prenatal yoga teacher training program registered with Yoga Alliance in the Pittsburgh area. We offer a number of certificate programs to provide continuing education and specialization support to yoga instructors and other professionals who would find these skills helpful in their careers. All certificate programs are offered by instructors who are E-RYT and carry CEU credits for Yoga Alliance.
- Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training
- Mommy & Me and Postnatal Exercise Teacher Training
These programs are offered on a regular basis. We are moving towards a program that combines online training modules and training weekends. This allows participants to complete the required readings, lectures and assignments at their own pace and provides flexible training options for working teachers and those who have family and other responsibilities that make a longer or more structured time-specific program impossible. Please send an e-mail to Sharon to inquire and receive information packages and applications.

Register for individual training sessions HERE.
Matrika Prenatal Teacher Training program is registered with Yoga Alliance™ and all graduates are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as R-PYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teachers).
In order to receive certification in Matrika Prenatal, you must register for and complete the following workshops within a 2-year period:

Part II: Anatomy of Pregnancy and Sequencing
Part III: Pregnancy and Labor Yoga Training
Part IV: Matrika Mom & Baby Postnatal Yoga Training
Part V: Practicum (35-additional hours/flexible locations)
Each of these training workshops can be taken individually to meet your professional goals and continuing education needs and carry their own CEU credits. You only need to take all of the parts of the training if you are interested in teaching certification for prenatal yoga. Part V is a 20-hour practicum that will involve practice hours, observations, assisting in classes and practice teaching. If you are local to Pittsburgh, this practicum requirement can be completed through Yoga Matrika. If you are outside of the Pittsburgh area, then we will make arrangements for you to complete this requirement in a way that is convenient to where you live. The cost of the practicum is $100 plus any costs associated with taking classes to fulfill your practice hour requirements. There will be a final exam and interview process. Upon successful completion of all training sessions, assignments, practicum and exam, you will receive a certificate in Matrika Prenatal. Matrika Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training is a Registered Program with Yoga Alliance. All graduates who complete the entire program and all requirements will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a R-PYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher).
