200-Hour Teacher Training Programs
Director of Training:
Sharon Fennimore Rudyk, MA, E-RYT, R-PYT
We are a Registered Yoga School (RYS®) with Yoga Alliance and graduates of our 200-hour Teacher Training Program are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT®). All of our trainers are E-RYT and can provide CEU credits towards ongoing certification requirements with Yoga Alliance.
Sharon Fennimore Rudyk, MA, R-PYT, E-RYT offers three different teacher training opportunities that all provide the credentials required to register with Yoga Alliance as either an RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and/or an R-PYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher). Interested students should contact Sharon to discuss their interest in the program and to see if it is the best fit. A teacher training program is a significant investment in yourself, your practice and has implications for your development as an instructor of yoga. It is not a decision that should be made lightly.
Please call Sharon to discuss (412) 855-5692 or attend one of her classes and talk with her before or after class about your interest.

PROGRAM SCHEDULES
200-hour Teacher Training Program (one year program)
Yoga Matrika’s 200-hour program is a one year deep study program that includes an online course component, individual mentoring, practice teaching and one training weekend every three-months where we will meet together for training sessions. Participants should plan on spending approximately 15-hours per month during the training to complete the online course components (readings, lectures, writing assignments and quizzes). Every three-months, on the second weekend of the month, we will have training sessions on Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning until 1:00pm. The online courses and training weekends are open to all students who are interested in deepening their practice. For those participants who wish to receive a certificate of completion for the program in order to obtain their 200-hour RYT registration with Yoga Alliance, there are additional components that are not included in the tuition: 3-private sessions with Sharon, teaching at least two practice classes that are open to the public and taking a minimum of 50 yoga classes during your training year. The tuition does not include any of the required readings. All handouts for training weekends are provided. For the March 25 training cohort, the training weekends will be the orientation weekend in March, the second weekend of June, second weekend of September, second weekend March 2013.
Online Course Component: $75 monthly (12 month payment plan) or $840 one time payment
Training Weekends: $200 per weekend or $760 one payment
In addition, you will likely spend $180 on private sessions with Sharon (these can be completed using Skype for distance students), approximately $200 on required textbooks and between $500 and $1,000 depending on where you take your required group practice classes. Please note that you can take the online course as a stand-alone course and do not need to attend the training weekends. Participation in the training weekends requires enrollment in the online course component.
100-Hour Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Certificate Program (6-month program)
Yoga Matrika’s 100-hour prenatal and postnatal certificate program is an 6-month program with a $75 per month payment plan for the online course component ( or $400 one time payment) and two training sessions that are $250 each (or $475 one time payment). You should expect to spend about $500 on required textbooks and on the class tuition, private sessions and other requirements that will be necessary to receive a certificate and register with Yoga Alliance as an R-PYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher). This online course component is only available to program participants who also intend to attend the training sessions.

200-Hour Program Information
Our 200-hour program is designed as an opportunity for deep study of yoga texts, anatomy, and various practices including meditation, asana, pranayama and energy. For some participants, this is an important part of their path to becoming a yoga instructor. For others, it is a journey of self-study that helps to clarify other relationships, career goals and personal interests. Trainees who complete the entire program including attending all training sessions and completing all assignments will graduate and are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance. Registration with Yoga Alliance is not required and the fees associated with membership in this organization are not included in your tuition fees. While it is not required to complete a 200-hour training program to teach yoga, it is a significant way to professionalize your intention to be a yoga instructor.
This 200-hour program provides a multi-disciplinary approach to Hatha yoga and meditation. This program emphasizes self-study and practice combined with a well supported practicum and teaching apprenticeship. We’ll make sure that you have both the yoga and teaching skills you need to share what you love with yogis of all ages and abilities.
