Starting in fall 2010, Yoga Matrika will be offering an Advanced Studies program. This program will offer yoga students and instructors, of all levels, the opportunity to deeply study various aspects of yoga, anatomy, meditation, science, history, philosophy and language. What you can only get a taste of in a drop-in class, you can study in great depth in these professional level courses taught by the best faculty in Pittsburgh and the world.
If your goal is to obtain the Matrika Certificate in Advanced Yoga Studies, then you do need to register for the program and pay a fee that will cover our administrative costs for tracking your credit hours. The one-time fee is $100. We will provide all course registrants with an application form on the first day of any course that you attend. If you just want to take these courses without working towards the certificate, you do not need to pay this fee.
These courses are ideal for yoga instructors who would like to continue their studies on an advanced level as well as students of all levels who are interested in learning more about yoga from a variety of perspectives. All of Yoga Matrika’s teacher training programs carry credits towards the Advanced Yoga Studies Certificate, but they are not required to obtain a certificate. Advanced yoga students who are considering teacher training are encouraged to take advanced studies courses as part of their journey and transition from student to teacher. You do not need to be a yoga instructor or even think that you’d ever want to be one, to benefit from these magnificent courses.
